Unique Student Identifier (USI)
As a training provider, you’re required to collect and report your students’ Unique Student Identifier (USI). This applies to all students enrolling in nationally recognized training courses, regardless of whether the training is delivered face-to-face, online, or through a blended approach. Additionally, this requirement is essential for ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards set by the Australian government. It also facilitates the streamlined reporting of student achievements and qualifications across different education and training providers.:
- New Students
- Pre-enrolled students
- Continuing students
- School students completing nationally recognised training
There are some exceptions and exemptions, please refer to the USI website for more information on this subject.
VET Student Management Systems should track Student, allow for verification and for Lookup. Additionally, these systems must report them in the AVETMISS Client file (NAT00080). PowerPro complies with these requirements and has optional rules in place. For example, one rule disallows the action of issuing AQF documents to Students who do not have a verified (or an exemption).
PowerPro integrates with the Unique Student Identifier using the Web Service. Users can verify and locate within PowerPro at any time operating intuitive menus:
PowerPro users can easily identify the status of each participant. Internal audit reports can also be used to list current Students without a verified Unique Student Identifier.
